Orchestra Students to Host Concert With Mark Wood on Feb. 18
< Back
Emmy-winning composer and former Trans-Siberian Orchestra member Mark Wood will join the Neenah middle school and high school orchestras for an electrifying performance on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Pickard Auditorium.
Reserved tickets for the show, “Electrify Your Strings,” are on sale now for $10 each ($5 for 10 and under). Tickets purchased the night of the concert will be $15 each ($10 for 10 and under). Tickets may be purchased online at neenahhs.seatyourself.biz.
Wood will be working with Neenah students in classes for three days from Feb. 16-18 in preparation for the performance. The program brings together classical music with contemporary styles such as rock, jazz and blues in order to provide a custom, hands-on learning experience.
Wood’s classroom portion focuses on rehearsing the material, encouraging students to relate to the music as more than simply dots on the page, connecting with the audience and accessing students’ creative potential.
The Neenah Music Parents will be raffling a Mark Wood Stingray electric violin. Raffle tickets will be available before and during the night of the concert.
