All students will be enrolled in their home school for the 2024-25 school year. This means that any students who attended a school outside of their assigned boundary during the 2023-24 school year, will be unenrolled from that school and placed in the school of their new, home boundary.
The District has developed a process for those students wishing to remain at the school where they attended in the 2023-24 school year.
For all students wishing to remain at their current school, a priority order has been established. All 2024-25 fourth-grade students wishing to remain at their current school will be guaranteed the opportunity to do so. For others, they will be granted a spot at their current school provided space is available at the desired grade level in the desired school. Any student wishing to attend school outside of their assigned boundary for the 2024-25 school year, including 4th-grade students, must complete a boundary exemption form. These boundary exemptions will be granted in the following order:
-
All 2024-25 fourth-grade students wishing to remain at the school they attended during the 2023-24 school year
-
Students currently attending a school through an in-district transfer* and choose to remain at their current school
-
2024-25 first, second, and third-grade students who have been displaced due to boundary change and want to return to the school they attended in 2023-24
-
Students currently attending a school through a boundary exemption** and choose to remain at their current school
-
All remaining requests according to current boundary exemption guidelines
*An in-district transfer is applied when a student is transferred by the District to a school outside of their home boundary due to lack of space at the school in their home boundary.
**A boundary exemption is granted to a student who willingly chooses to attend a school outside of their assigned school boundary.
-----
All families wishing to submit a boundary exemption for the 2024-25 school year can submit their requests beginning on March 1, 2024. Families should use the link included below to complete a boundary exemption request for each student. All requests must be submitted by March 15, 2024. Boundary exemptions submitted after March 15, 2024 will be granted according to standard boundary exemption guidelines and will not be given priority consideration because of the boundary changes.
Finally, the District has set up an email address for all boundary exemption inquiries. Please submit any questions to boundaryexemptions@neenah.k12.wi.us. Please do not call your child's school or submit questions to your school's building principal. All enrollment inquiries will be handled by District personnel.
