It was closed for six years and reopened in the fall of 2014 as the site of the Early Learning program. In 2015, the Neenah Joint School District started a 4K program and placed 4 of the classrooms at Washington. In 2016, the UW-Oshkosh Head Start program opened two classrooms at the Washington School site. In 2017, the 4K classroom from Taft moved over to Washington which now holds 5 of the 8 4K classrooms in the district.
