Four Neenah students placed among the top 10 percent of 23,000 participating students nationwide in the Noetic Learning Math Contest.
Fourth grader Derek Seymour and fifth graders Connor Gibbs, Nathan Rank and Sam Kane earned a place on the National Honor Roll and received medals for their achievement. All four students attend Horace Mann Middle School.
Noetic Learning Math Contest is a national mathematics contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students' interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills and to inspire them to excel in math. Students from 526 schools across the country took part in this fall’s contest.
An additional 21 Neenah students received honorable mention honors for placing among the top 50 percent nationwide. Fourth graders honored were Elizabeth Aykens, Brynley Foster, Brady Keller, Meghan McAvoy, Liam Sieck and Killian Winkel. Honorable mention fifth graders were Rylie Bauman, Alex Chandik, Avery Cowell, Marie Dums, Harrison Flint, Aria Giddings, Carl Hein, Zachary Liebeskind, Aidan Lishner, Ethan Mertes, Jax Molle, Carson Verhagen, Ayden Weisbrod, Bly Wheeler and Cooper Willis.
In total, 34 students from Neenah’s magnet classes with Mrs. Tricia Retzlaff and Mrs. Kim Gregory participated.
