Proposals for 2017 summer school and 2017-18 Course, Additions, Deletions and Revisions (CADR) were approved as presented by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its Dec. 6 meeting.
The Board lauded the summer school committee for its work and passed the proposal with little discussion. With CADR, some Board members questioned some aspects of the proposal, specifically regarding the Wellness Education Department’s wish to rename to Physical Education. The Board passed the proposal with a 6-3 vote and indicated it wishes to give a closer look at course offerings for 2018-19.
A proposal to hire Bray Architects as a consultant to perform a District facilities study was approved by the Board. Resignations for Wellness Coordinator Kelly Kelderman, effective Dec. 23, and Shattuck operations employee David Kaphaem, effective immediately, were also approved.
The Board passed Board Policies on public information and citizens’ advisory groups. A policy on school visitors was tabled.
Av Osero, who won the Division 1 girls state diving championship, was honored by the Board during the superintendent’s report.
The next meeting is set for Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.
