The NJSD has a long history of quality schools and the District prides itself in having a passionate focus on music education. Several recent studies have indicated the strong connection between the arts and academic success and graduation rates. The NJSD Music Department has a wonderfully competent and passionate staff who pledge their continued dedication to the art of music with the inclusion of music education as an essential component of life-long learning for all students.
All elementary students receive music instruction which include the following opportunities:
• K-5 General Music
• 5th Grade Band, Orchestra, and Choir
• 3rd - 5th Grade After School Suzuki Talent Education (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass)
An impressive array of opportunities are provided for middle and high school students in both the curricular and extra-curricular areas of Band, Choir, Orchestra, and General Music.
