Enroll your child with the link located at the top right of this page. In an effort to help you prepare, you will need: child's birth certificate and proof of residency at the time of enrollment. Click here for acceptable proof of residency.
Once your child is enrolled, parents will receive all communication via email. Communication about placement for the upcoming school year will be sent via email by June 1st. Information about teacher assignments will be available on the Parent Portal by the end of August.
Transportation is available for 4K students who qualify. Please review page two of our transportation request form located on the right for eligibility requirements. 4K students who need and qualify for busing must complete the transportation request form, and submit it to Washington School of Early Learning via email at washingtonoffice@neenah.k12.wi.us.
If you would like to be placed on a waitlist for another session, please email washingtonoffice@neenah.k12.wi.us. The waitlists are developed in the order the email request is received.
The NJSD 4K Program offers a play-based learning environment with an emphasis on Literacy. Play-based learning engages students in thoughtfully planned, hands-on learning experiences that promote language development, literacy, math, reading and science. Students are exposed to a variety of social skills, such as effective communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and cooperation through play-based learning. Our approach to play-based learning is linked to thematic units. Each unit consists of lessons to support: Health & Physical Development, Social & Emotional Development, Language Development & Communication, and General Knowledge, which are aligned to the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Purposefully planned lessons in each area support children's continued success in school.
4K classrooms are located at Washington School of Early Learning. Two sessions are offered: AM and PM. The 4K Program is Monday through Friday, and follows the NJSD calendar. Session times are as follows:

Age Eligibility: A child is eligible for entrance into four (4) year-old kindergarten if they attain the age of four (4) on or before September 1st of the year in which they apply for entrance and meet the residency requirements.
A child shall not enter four (4) year-old kindergarten if they turn five (5) on or before September 1st of the year in which they apply for entrance and meet residency requirements. The District will make an exception for children who reach the age of five (5) between July 1 and August 31 of the year in which they apply for entrance and meet residency requirements.
A child shall enter five (5) year-old kindergarten when they attain the age of five (5) on or before September 1st of the year in which they apply for entrance and meet residency requirements.
There is no early entrance to the 4K Program.
