NJSD Staff Members Use First Day to Support Those in Need
< Back
Neenah Joint School District staff members made generous donations to those in their local community and beyond as part of their first day of the 2016-17 school year on August 29.
The Neenah United Education Association (NUEA) collected $717 for public school teachers in Louisiana affected by recent flooding. The NUEA will match the funding and send a check for $1,434 to the Louisiana Education Association (LEA). The LEA will distribute the funds to individuals and schools where they work.
The annual Bob Melzer food drive brought in 1,580 pounds of food and $126 in cash that was donated to Ruth’s Pantry in Winchester. The annual event is coordinated by the District’s operations and maintenance department.
Staff members also provided school supplies and cash that were donated to the Educator’s Closet. The closet allows for Neenah students to have the necessary supplies to be successful in the classroom.
