Neenah Powerlifting Earns Two Titles at National Meet

Neenah won national championships in two separate divisions at the high school national powerlifting championships at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.
Neenah captured titles in the girls equipped division and the combined raw division. The boys raw team and combined equipped team both finished runner-up. Additionally, four individuals earned national titles in their divisions. Those winning varsity titles were Jonas Kasten in the boys 66 kilogram raw division, Courtney Corrente in the girls 63 kilogram equipped division and Dallas Cavegn in the girls 84 kilogram equipped division. Anaya Davids was the JV champion in the girls 47 kilogram equipped division. Four athletes were runner-up in their varsity divisions: Delaney Ortiz in the girls 47 kilogram equipped division, Kristen Opielia in the girls 84+ kilogram equipped division, Brayden Londerville in the boys 53 kilogram equipped division and Spencer Butke in the boys 74 kilogram raw division. Danielle Eagan was third in the girls 84+ kilogram equipped division.
Overall, Neenah had 24 lifters participating in the meet, which was the largest in the event’s history with 630 athletes from 24 states. Neenah had 18 lifters finish among the top five places in their respective divisions.
Neenah’s girls equipped team also won the state title earlier this month in Mauston. The boys raw team was also state champions.
