Neenah Joint School District students in first through eighth grades have the opportunity to learn a variety of art skills during a week-long summer program which runs July 28-August 1 for elementary students and August 4-8 for students in grades 5-8.
The Junior Visual Arts Academy is in its second year and registration forms are available on the right side of this page. Students learn about art history, two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and creative careers. Students spend time drawing, painting and sculpting using conventional materials as well as unique materials like toast painting and marshmallow sculpture.
The creative careers portion teaches children about possible careers available in art and design. Overall, the academy helps students see what opportunities are available in art in the Neenah Joint School District.
Students in grades 1-4 may register for the elementary program and grades 5-8 are eligible for the intermediate program.
Art teachers from throughout the school district organize and supervise the program.
