Non-Resident Open Enrollment

The Neenah Joint School District has openings available for students who live outside of our district boundaries.  These students will need to apply for open enrollment, and information about that process is below.

The regular open enrollment application period, which allows parents to send their children tuition-free to any Wisconsin public school district, runs from February 2, 2026 to April 30, 2026.

During the regular open enrollment period, parents may apply to the school district they wish their children to attend using this online application website. The regular open enrollment application deadlines are firm, as early and late applications are not accepted.  

The Neenah Joint School District will notify parents no later than June 6th whether their open enrollment applications have been approved or denied. 

Parents of students who have or are planning to move out of Neenah prior to the upcoming school year but wish to continue in a Neenah school should complete an open enrollment application. 

The Neenah Joint School District does not require open enrolled students to re-apply once they have been accepted.  Siblings of open enrolled students still must apply and be accepted in order to attend Neenah schools.

If you do not apply during the regular open enrollment period, there is a second opportunity.  There is an alternate application procedure that allows parents to apply outside of the three-month application period, but there are more restrictions associated with the alternate procedure.  Information about the alternative open enrollment process is found HERE.  That application is available after July 1st.
