The NJSD 4K Program offers a play-based learning environment with an emphasis on Literacy. Play-based learning engages students in thoughtfully planned, hands-on learning experiences that promote language development, literacy, math, reading and science. Students are exposed to a variety of social skills, such as effective communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and cooperation through play-based learning. Our approach to play-based learning is linked to thematic units. Each unit consists of lessons to support: Health & Physical Development, Social & Emotional Development, Language Development & Communication, and General Knowledge, which are aligned to the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Purposefully planned lessons in each area support children's continued success in school. 4K classrooms are located at Washington School of Early Learning. Two sessions are offered: AM and PM. The 4K Program is Monday through Friday, and follows the NJSD calendar. 4K Programming Survey Open
The Neenah Joint School District is exploring options for 4K programming. We want to make sure we’re supporting the needs of families in our community through a community survey. Your feedback will help guide future discussions and planning as we consider potential program offerings, schedules, and resources.
No changes are planned to the current 4K program at this time. This survey is intended solely to gather input that will inform possible future decisions.
We ask those with children from birth to 3 years old to please fill out our 4K programming survey by clicking here by August 25. Thank you for participating!
