Ten of the Neenah Joint School District’s most prominent alumni and former employees were honored at the District’s inaugural Hall of Fame banquet on Sat., Oct. 3 at Bridgewood Resort in Neenah.
The group also participated in the homecoming parade and was introduced at halftime of the homecoming football game on Oct. 2. About 220 people attended the inaugural banquet. Former Neenah High School band director Gary Lemieux served as Master of Ceremonies. Music was provided by the Touch of Class orchestra and the plaques were produced by the Neenah High School technology education students and staff.
Those honored included alumni George Edwin Bergstrom, Dr. Theresa Cheng, Laura (Coenen) Ryan, Ole Jorgensen, James Keating, John Keating, Wayne Kreklow and John Whitlinger. Former teachers and coaches Joe Braun and Ron Einerson completed the inaugural class.
Bergstrom was represented by Wally Bergstrom, Braun was represented by his son, William, James Keating was represented by his son, James, Jr., and John Keating was represented by his son, Michael. Wayne Kreklow was the only living inductee unable to attend and was represented by his father, Wayne, Sr. Jorgensen’s family was not represented at the event.
Nominations for the 2016 Hall of Fame class are now open until Nov. 30, 2015 through the Neenah Joint School District website. |
