Three Neenah High School seniors have been selected as semifinalists for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program.
Clara Lambrecht, Adelaide Zwick and Margaret Zwick all achieved the honor and are among 16,000 semifinalists nationwide. They will be vying for 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, which total about $33 million. Final scholarship awards will be announced next spring.
Clara is the daughter of Andrew and Lynne Lambrecht, while Adelaide and Margaret are twin daughters of Kenneth Zwick and Carol Hollar-Zwick. All three students have grade point averages over 3.98 while taking a full schedule of advanced placement courses. Each student is also involved in school music activities.
The National Merit Scholar Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. It was established in 1955 specifically to conduct the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Scholarships are underwritten by the corporation with its own funds and by approximately 440 business organizations and higher education institutions that share its goals of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence. |
