Neenah High School’s varsity boys golf team not only had a successful season with a ninth place finish at the WIAA state tournament, but all five members of the squad were named to the Academic All-State team.
Seniors Connor Grundman, Isaac Quella and Aaron Rosauer, junior Jack Mulvey and sophomore Sam Galloway were all named to the squad. The group also comprised Neenah’s varsity team that placed second in the Fox Valley Association and won WIAA regional and sectional titles. The five combined for a school-record score of 300 at the WIAA sectional meet
The Academic All-State team is honored by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin. Students must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, participate in 75 percent of their team’s varsity matches and be at least a sophomore. This season, a record 280 golfers from throughout the state were named to the team.
Earlier this week, Neenah shot a 320 each day of the WIAA state tournament to place ninth overall with a 640 team score. It was the Rockets’ fourth straight trip to state. |
