Open enrollment limits for the 2020-21 school year were approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its Jan. 14 meeting.
The estimates indicate openings only at third, fourth and fifth grades for the upcoming year based on enrollment projections and class size limits. The numbers are estimates and enrollment changes could result in additional spaces becoming available. Currently accepted open enrolled students and their siblings are exempt from the capacities.
In other action, hires were approved for Andrea Marsh as a high school attendance clerk and Julie Wolfgram as an educational assistant at Shattuck. End-of-year retirements were approved for Assistant District Administrator Vicky Holt, Roosevelt teacher Mary Reader, high school teacher Mitch Trebon, Wilson teacher Cindy Collar, Tullar teacher Dianna Ciaciura, Horace Mann teacher Cathy Johnson, high school receptionist Sue Freundl, high school scheduler Lisa Belling, Wilson educational assistant Kathy Birkholz, high school administrative assistant Linda Walter, Wilson educational assistant Jody Desch and high school educational assistant/career specialist Lori Uvaas.
The Board also discussed their stance on proposed Wisconsin Association of School Boards resolutions that will be voted upon at the upcoming State Education Convention.
The next meeting is set for Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.
