Neenah Joint School District residents are invited to attend community engagement sessions to provide feedback on potential pathways for upgrading the District’s facilities.
The sessions will be held at the following dates, times and locations:
• July 15, 6-8 p.m. – Spring Road Elementary library
• July 24, 10 a.m.-noon – Lakeview Elementary gymnasium
• July 29, 6-8 p.m. – Neenah High School cafeteria
• August 15, 6-8 p.m. – Neenah Public Library Shattuck room
Content at all of the sessions will be identical, but the public is welcome to attend more than one meeting. The sessions will divide attendees into small groups to discuss pros and cons or other suggestions regarding each of the pathways presented. The feedback from the meetings will be recorded and submitted to the entire Board of Education for consideration.
“This is the time for the public to come forward and voice their opinions and have a say in the future of our District,” said Board of Education President Michelle Swardenski. “It’s important to reiterate that no decisions have been made and these sessions will help the Board in making these important decisions regarding our facilities.”
The pathways should be viewed as “roadmaps” or “visions” for the long term configuration of Neenah’s grades and school buildings. They should not be viewed or interpreted as a proposal for a single referendum. It is assumed when presenting the pathways that full implementation of any of them will require a combination of referendum and district operating budget investments over a period of time. More specific information on the funding strategy and timing will be provided when the pathways are narrowed.
