Residents living within the Neenah Joint School District boundary are being asked for their input regarding the future of the District’s facilities and a potential referendum in a community survey.
The survey is being conducted by School Perceptions, LLC and was mailed to all District households beginning September 26. The survey may be filled out and returned by mail or completed online through a link provided on the survey. District staff members and parents have also been e-mailed a link to fill out the survey.
Residents are being asked for feedback regarding the Board of Education’s top priorities of safety and security improvements at all buildings and a replacement of Shattuck Middle School. Questions also surround support for a potential fifth and sixth grade middle school and upgrades to elementary schools and the high school.
The survey is the next step in a process that began in December 2016 with the hiring of Bray Architects to evaluate the condition of each school. Eight public meetings have been held since February to gather community feedback and determine the District priorities.
The deadline for completing the survey is October 22. Results will be compiled and presented at a special Board of Education meeting on October 30 at 5 p.m. at the Shattuck Middle School Auditorium. The Board will consider the results of the survey to determine whether to move forward with a referendum and, if so, what projects to include.
