The 2019 employee health insurance plans were reviewed by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its Oct. 2 meeting.
The administrative proposal is to change to WEA Trust insurance. Employees will have an option of choosing an embedded plan or a non-embedded plan. WEA Trust was one of two companies to offer a competitive bid and offers a wider network of coverage than employees currently receive with WPS. The proposal also maintains the District HSA contribution and reinstates employee rewards through the Vitality program that was discontinued recently.
With the embedded plan, total employee costs will be increased for those currently on the “Buy Down” plan. Costs will be similar for those on the “Core” plan and decreased for those on the “Buy Up” plan. Employee costs will be increased for those choosing the non-embedded plan. The embedded plan carries an increased deductible and out-of-pocket maximum.
The only action item of the meeting was the approval of a board policy in regards to student withdrawals and dropouts.
Junior Zoe Galinsky was introduced as the new student representative to the Board.
The Board will vote on the health insurance plan at its next meeting on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
