Neenah High School’s top senior students academically and athletically were honored at the Senior Class Award Ceremony as part of the graduation rehearsal on May 30 in the Ron Einerson Fieldhouse.
Jacob Solis received two academic awards, earning honors as Outstanding Art and Family and Consumer Science student. He shared the art award with Kalia Vang and the family and consumer science award with Madison Miller and Madalyn Boehnlein.
Ryan Frost was named the Outstanding Math Student, Kiki Risgaard earned the Outstanding Social Studies award, Dane Hart received the Outstanding English Student award and Katie Fieldhack and Ian Krook shared Outstanding Science Student honors.
In world languages, Taylor Van Hammond was the top French student, Adam Gerarden was the top Chinese student and John Zwick earned top Spanish student honors. In music, Jessica Anderson won the National Choral Award, Mindara Krueger-Olson claimed the National Orchestra Award and Nathan Heywood received the John Philip Sousa Outstanding Senior Band Student Award. Kayla McGinnis won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the Neenah Community Band scholarship, while Emily Nickolai was named the Neenah Community Band outstanding senior and Nathan Murphy received the Semper Fidelis Marine Corps Band award.
In athletics, Risgaard was named the Female Athlete of the Year and Chris Keider and Miles Priebe shared Male Athlete of the Year honors. For boys sports, Ethan Emenecker won the Jerry Gollnick Award and Krook earned the Marlon Batterman Trophy. For girls sports, Elizabeth Thome won the Connie Lambert-Jan Wisehart Trophy and Annika Redemann received the Kim Dodge Spirit Award. The Mel Northway Award went to Brandon Beauchamp for boys and Elizabeth Groshek and Audrey Makope for girls.
Frost and Risgaard were recognized for their nomination as WIAA Scholar Athletes. Five students were honored for participation in three sports: Alec Elkin, Andrew Gumtow, Jeremy Mansfield, David Oyler and Colin Enz.
