The appointment of Chad Buboltz to an administrative position at Central Office and open enrollment limits for the 2018-19 school year were among items approved by the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at its Jan. 9 meeting.
In addition, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Susan Hull gave the Board an overview of the data contained within the recently-released state report cards and the performance of each school.
Buboltz’s position is part of a succession planning process with several District administrators potentially retiring in the next five years. In addition to his move, Bill Richardson will move to a full-time position at the high school and the District will seek an individual to fill the administrator position split between the high school and middle school.
The District will have no open enrollment spaces open for special education students or for any students in grades 4K-2.
In other action items, end-of-school-year retirements were approved for Taft and Hoover teacher Cary Bonikowske, Lakeview teacher Mary Fleming, Hoover teacher Janet Wanamaker, Horace Mann teacher Scott Bork and Shattuck Educational Assistant Elizabeth Knuth. Board policies were also adopted for parent and family engagement in Title I programs and the notification of educational options.
Six candidates contending for three seats during the April 3 election were announced. Incumbents Betsy Ellenberger and John Lehman will face challengers Brian Epley, Carol Hollar-Zwick, Marcelo Garcia and Tom Hanby.
