Transportation

• Grades 4K-12 students attending public or private schools who live within the boundaries of the District are eligible for transportation if they reside two or more miles from the nearest school they are designated to attend.

• Students residing less than two miles from school may qualify for a bus ride if unusual hazards exist for the student walking or if the student is differently abled.

• If a student is transferred by the District to a school outside of their attendance boundary, transportation will be provided.

• Open enrolled students ​​​​​​may be eligible for a paid ride if space and routes allow.  Open enrolled families should contact Kobussen at neenah.tm@kobussen.com to inquire about a paid ride.

• Students attending a school outside of their attendance area under a boundary exemption are not eligible for transportation.

• AM Session 

  • TO School: 4K students with a home address that is outside of a two-mile radius from Washington School/Alliance Charter are eligible to receive bus transportation TO school. Students within a two-mile radius of the school site will not be eligible for transportation to school through NJSD.

  • FROM School: All 4K students are eligible to receive transportation FROM school for the AM session. 

• PM Session:  All 4K students are eligible for transportation TO and FROM school for the PM session.

• All 4K students must submit a transportation form by July 15 to ride the bus on the first day of school.

• If your student has an IEP and transportation is provided as a related service, you will receive a link for a google form to submit for SPED transportation

• If you have questions about SPED transportation, or did not receive the google form, please contact the Pupil Services department at 920-751-6800 ext. 10118 or heather.strassburg@neenah.k12.wi.us

• Students attending Alliance Charter that reside two or more miles away from the school are eligible for a bus ride.

• Alliance Charter students are required to submit a transportation form found HERE by July 15 to ride the bus on the first day of school.

• Alliance 4K students requesting transportation should submit this form

• Private school students in grades 4K-12 who live within district boundaries and reside 2 or more miles from the nearest school they are designated to attend are eligible for a bus ride.

• Please contact your school directly to obtain a transportation form.  This form will be submitted by your school to Kobussen for review of eligibility.

• Private school bus forms must be submitted to your school by June 15 to have a ride on the first day of school.

• What’s the best way to know if my student is eligible for the bus?
  • Simply enter  your home address in Google Maps and search the distance to your student’s school.  If you are 2 or more miles away, you are eligible
     
• How will I know my student(s) bus route number? Pick up time? Bus stop location?
  • Information is not available before August.  Kobussen works on routing during the summer months and will have student route details ready before school starts.
  • Once routes have been completed, they will be visible in your Parent Portal.
     
• Can my child be dropped off at a babysitter’s house or other alternate stop?
  Students can NOT be picked up or dropped off at an alternate stop EXCEPT as follows:
  • There must be room on an established route serving the school attended.
  • Parents must request this service in writing HERE, understanding that the student may need to walk to the nearest bus stop.
  • The service must be on a regular and continuous basis, not intermittent.
     
• I am divorced from my student’s other parent- can he be routed to both homes?
  • The same eligibility rules apply, but if both homes are eligible based on distance from the school, your student can be placed on dual routes.  Contact Kobussen at neenah.tm@kobussen.com to request a dual route.  *Please be aware that Kobussen drivers can not be responsible for knowing which bus a student should ride on a given day. 
     
• Can my student get a bus pass to ride home with a friend?
  • Bus passes are not permitted- only students routed on each specific bus may ride.  If your student has plans with a friend after school, alternate transportation arrangements will need to be made.
     
• How do I get new bus route information if I move?
  • AFTER you have notified the district regarding your new address via the Parent Portal, please reach out to the transportation coordinator to request a new route:  julie.wawiorka@neenah.k12.wi.us
