Substitute Teaching Information

How Do I Become a Substitute Teacher?

Here are a few tips to help you get started:

All substitutes (teacher and support staff) must complete an application on the Wisconsin Education Career Access Network (WECAN) website. Certified Staff accounts are for teacher substitutes and Support Staff accounts are for non-teaching substitutes. You must apply to a substitute posting to be considered.

If you have a current Wisconsin teaching license and/or substitute license please apply to the Substitute Teacher Vacancy (ID #242186). If you do not have a substitute license, but are interested in obtaining one, you can contact CESA 6 which provides training to qualified candidates.

To substitute in a support staff role (educational assistant, administrative assistant, etc.), please apply to the Support Staff Substitute Vacancy (ID #242187).

For further information, contact Valerie Erickson at valerie.erickson@neenah.k12.wi.us.

* You will be contacted by email if your application has been accepted.

Administrators use Red Rover to get a clearer view of absence management to ensure effective classroom instruction and complete fill rates. Red Rover not only saves countless hours of manual sub-calling, but also offers efficient absence tracking and reporting.
