Welcome to Wilson Elementary School. This past year, Wilson Elementary was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education for excellence in the classroom. This recognition celebrates the hard work of so many from our Wilson community; our teachers, families and most importantly our students.
Wilson Elementary’s long history of excellence began in 1949 and continues today with the same basic beliefs; that hard work, family involvement and commitment, and a diverse but rigorous curriculum result in student achievement. Today’s student needs to be ready for the 21st Century, so providing our students with the technology and instructional practices that focus on problem solving and clear communication, are at the core of our curriculum. Each of our classrooms is equipped with a SMART board and a document reader, which are utilized daily for instruction. Our staff at Wilson recognizes the ever changing world, and they strive to reach every child, every day, anyway possible.
Community and parent involvement is a critical component to any successful school. Here at Wilson, our families and our PTO are committed to developing and sustaining that parental support. Throughout the year, numerous family events and PTO sponsored activities are planned, bringing everyone together. Come be a part of our school community.
Our students know how to be successful. We have five core beliefs that everyone in this building lives by: diligence, honesty, integrity, respect and responsibility. Our mission is to teach and reinforce what we most want out of our school community not only for today, but for the rest of their lives.
