Location & History: A classic neighborhood school, Wilson was built in 1949 with additions in 1953, 1993 and 2004. The second generation of several families now attends classes here. The school is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood and borders Laudan Park. All students walk to school, except those having special transportation needs.
Arbor Day and Earth Day are celebrated in a special way at Wilson every year. Wilson students have planted most of the mature trees around the school, and many have been dedicated to retiring staff members.
Parental Involvement: The Wilson parent organization is organized as a PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). The group meets monthly and focuses on providing enriching and fun family activities for students and parents. They include a school carnival and a costume dance. Funds go to supplement the budgets for classroom and building needs, such as the new message sign board and assemblies.
Extra Curriculars: student council, YMCA after school care, parent-run soccer and basketball teams, Boy and Girl Scouts, host school for district-wide Suzuki string music program group rehearsals (3rd and 4th grade)
