Neenah High School had 74 students honored for exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement exams during the 2015-16 school year, including Ian de Wet and Adelle Sturgell, who qualified for the National AP Scholar Award.
National AP Scholars earned an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on at least eight AP exams. Both students also received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides academically prepared students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. Overall, Neenah offers 19 College Board authorized classes to its students. Last year, a total of 284 Neenah students took 469 AP exams.
Neenah had 23 students qualify for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and posting scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Another 20 students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and earning scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Another 31 students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with scores of 3 or higher.
