Jeff Spoehr concluded nine years of service to the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education at the April 19 meeting. Spoehr will be replaced on the nine-member Board by Lauri Asbury based on results of the April 5 election.
“Jeff is a committed and supportive board member with a focus on students,” said superintendent Dr. Mary Pfeiffer. “He’s somebody who asks important questions and is very careful about the decisions he makes. He did an outstanding job for the students and families in Neenah.”
Spoehr began his first three-year term in 2007 and was re-elected in 2010 and 2013. He served as Board Clerk and chair of the curriculum and program development committee for several of those years.
“When you’re able to say that you left the Board in a better place when you left than when you started, that’s a good thing and Jeff has done that,” said Board President Scott Thompson. “His experience dealing with insurance has especially been invaluable to this Board.”
“I will admit that I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into,” Spoehr said during recognition at the April 19 meeting. “I learned so many things as a member of this Board. Thank you for letting me do this for nine years. It’s been very much appreciated.”
Christopher Kunz and Jean Maurice Boyer were both re-elected to three-year terms in the recent election.
