Taft Students Learn About Money and Take Part in Piggy Bank Contest
< Back
Third grade students at Taft Elementary School have been learning about the importance of saving money and will have a chance to start their own savings account in an upcoming piggy bank contest.
The students have been learning about managing money from Associated Bank representatives Roddy Haynes and Grant Lange, who have been visiting the school since Oct. 5 and teaching the Junior Achievement curriculum. Students have learned the importance and role money plays in their lives and the local community. As part of the instruction, the students have had the opportunity to decorate their own piggy banks, which were donated by Associated Bank.
The decorated piggy banks will be on display at the downtown Neenah Associated Bank branch from Oct. 17-23. Everyone who enters the bank will be encouraged to vote for their favorite piggy bank. The winners from each class will receive a savings account funded with $30, while the second place vote-getter will receive $20.
In addition to the piggy bank contest, Associated Bank continues to offer the Rockets Banking program that supports the Neenah Joint School District. The bank makes a donation to the District for every new Rockets Banking account, including $50 for new checking accounts, $25 for new money market accounts, $10 for new savings accounts and $5 for new certificates of deposit. They also make quarterly deposits based on total deposit balances of all Rockets Banking members. |
