Horace Mann Students Walking to Benefit Trestle Trail Victims
< Back
Students at Horace Mann Middle School in Neenah will be walking in memory of the victims of the recent shooting at the Trestle Trail bridge during the school’s upcoming walk-a-thon on May 22.
Each student will walk a 5K in memory of the victims, while accepting pledges to support the affected families. Students are gathering pledges in varying amounts to allow all who want to contribute to be able to do so.
The walk-a-thon is an annual event in which students walk to Shattuck Middle School for an introduction to the building they will be attending next fall. Each year the students raise money for a specific charitable cause. Recent causes have been Operation Smile, Christine Anne Center, Make a Wish Foundation and Wounded Warriors in Action. Students at Horace Mann have raised over $30,000 for these causes since the school reopened in 1994.
Individuals wishing to donate to the event may contact any Horace Mann student or call the school office at 920-751-6940.
Horace Mann serves only sixth grade students and has an enrollment of 492 students.
