< Back
For the fourth straight year, Neenah’s girls 3200-meter relay captured the state championship at the WIAA state track and field meet on June 6 in La Crosse.
The team of Morgan McClone, Jennifer Parker, Jessica Laabs and Jessica Parker ran a time of 9:10.97 to win by nearly six seconds over second place Middleton. Parker and Parker were members of all four state champion relays, including the state record performance of 9:00.42 in 2012.
Alison Parker and Claire Knaus teamed with Jessica and Jennifer on the previous three state title teams. Alison currently runs for Marquette University, while Knaus is competing for Loyola University-Chicago. Jennifer and Jessica have signed letters of intent to run with their sister at Marquette next season.
Neenah placed sixth overall in the team standings with 23 points, finishing just three points out of third place. Jennifer Parker added a second place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:14.48 and Jessica Parker was fourth in the 1600-meter run in 4:55.54.
