Parents of preschool-age children in the Neenah Joint School District may sign up for a summer developmental screening to be held on August 6.
Parents may simply fill out the online child find screening request form at https://www.neenah.k12.wi.us/schools/taft/childfind.cfm to schedule a screening appointment on August 6. Appointments can still be scheduled by phone by calling the Taft Early Learning Center at 751-6980 (ext. 101). The screenings are free and typically last one hour.
A child find preschool screening can answer many questions about a child’s development. The purpose of the screening is to identify children who may need access to the programs in the Early Learning Center. Children must be between the ages of two years, nine months and five years old for the screening.
Children will have their speech, language, concepts and motor skills screened. They also are screened at three different stations by special education early childhood teachers and a speech language pathologist. While the children are being screened, parents are asked to fill out a questionnaire about their child’s social-emotional and self-help skills. Upon completion of the screening, all results are shared with parents.
Morning and late afternoon/early evening appointments are available. The screening will take place at Washington Early Learning Center located at 220 East Franklin Ave.
