The team of Jordan Altekruse, Andrew Belot, Adam Burkett, Matt Karrmann, Erik Metzig, Alex Mootz and Rob Schmidt placed 14th and won the "Think Award," while the team of Mitch Harter and Tyler Rupnow finished 31st.
The Think Award is presented to a team that has successfully utilized sensors, technology and autonomous programming modes during competition. Quality, consistency and success in competition as well as the ability of the students to explain the design and programming process is also considered.
In regards to the Think Award, the judges wrote, “this team was selected for their high quality of coding and the professional level of code documentation, plus the use of sensors in closed loop control to maintain lift mechanism alignment.”
The VEX Robotics teams are under the direction of Mr. Tony White and Mr. Adam Hendries.
