Debbie Wedding will go from leading two schools to one in 2014-15 as she has been named the full-time principal at Neenah’s Hoover Elementary School.
Wedding is currently in her first year as principal at Hoover and also oversees the District’s Early Learning Center and additional kindergarten classes at Taft Elementary. However, the school board recently voted to open Taft as a kindergarten through fifth grade school, necessitating a full-time principal in both Hoover and Taft.
“Debbie has done an outstanding job in her first year as an administrator, especially with the challenge of working between two buildings,” Neenah superintendent Dr. Mary Pfeiffer said. “Having an individual of Debbie’s quality solely at one school will be a tremendous asset for the students, families and staff at Hoover.”
Wedding will work exclusively at Hoover beginning this fall and a search will begin for a principal at Taft. A part-time administrator will also be hired for the Early Learning Center, which is relocating to Washington Elementary School in the fall.
Previously a teacher at Wilson Elementary and Alliance Charter Elementary, Wedding is in her 10th year in the Neenah Joint School District. She taught six years at Wilson and three years at Alliance after an 11-year stint in Oklahoma. Wedding earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Central Oklahoma.
