Neenah High School will host an academic planning night for students and their parents on Wed., Dec. 13.
The event runs from 5-8 p.m. and includes information on various topics for incoming freshmen to seniors. A session at 5 p.m. will be held for current juniors and their parents to gain information about selecting a college.
Another 5 p.m. session will held for current eighth grade students or students from private schools or other districts and their parents to learn about registration. Also at 5 p.m., students currently in grades 8-11 and their parents may attend a session regarding advanced, AP and CAPP classes. The session will also focus on finding balance with these high-level courses and participating in extra-curricular activities.
At 6 p.m. in Pickard Auditorium, all current students from eighth grade through juniors and their parents are invited to a session with a panel of Neenah High School teachers who have students in the District to hear insights into program planning that results in student success. From 7-8 p.m., a curriculum fair will be held in the cafeteria for all students and parents to talk with faculty from all academic departments about course descriptions.
No advance registration is necessary and parents and students may enter through the main entrance of the high school (Door 3). For more information, contact the high school office at 751-6900.

5:00 – 5:45 – Getting Ready for College – Room 148
Who: Current Juniors and parents
What: Neenah High School Counseling and college representatives will be on hand to discuss ACT and SAT exams, admissions requirements, tips for visiting campuses, college selection, and unique enrichment opportunities for NHS Juniors.
5:00 – 5:45 – New Rocket Families (New to NJSD) Overview & Registration – Room 128
Who: Grade 8 students and parents from private schools or other districts
What: This session is designed for families that are new to Neenah High School as an opportunity to learn about Neenah High School and learn about the registration process. Tours will be available.
5:00 – 6:00 – Advanced Classes? AP Classes? CAPP Classes? Extra-Curriculars? How much is too much? - Library
Who: Current students/parents grades 8 - 11
What: There are many opportunities for students at NHS. Finding the balance is important. Representatives from the Neenah High School Counseling Department and Administration will be on hand to provide valuable insight into the impact these courses have on college admissions, mental health, and activating curiosity in our students. A representative from the UW-Oshkosh CAPP Office as well as the NJSD AP Coordinator will be available for questions.
6:00 – 7:00 What is it like to be a parent of a Neenah High School student? – Pickard Auditorium
Who: Current students/parents in grades 8, 9, 10 & 11
What: Our parents are typically our best resource in developing a plan for students. Our teachers are an equally great resource. Join a panel of teachers who are also parents of Neenah High School students to gain valuable insight into program planning that results success for our students!
7:00 – 8:00 – Curriculum Fair – Cafeteria
Who: Current students/parents in grades 8, 9, 10 & 11
What: Representatives from each Neenah High School department will be in attendance to answer questions about planning your student’s academic program at Neenah High School.
