Neenah to Host State Special Olympics Basketball Skills Competition March 25
< Back
Over 260 athletes from across the state will compete at Neenah High School on Saturday, March 25 in the Special Olympics of Wisconsin basketball skills competition in the Ron Einerson Fieldhouse.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and is expected to last until about 4 p.m. Basketball skills competition consists of athletes competing in skills of passing, dribbling and shooting. There are two levels - one basic level and then a level that does more higher-level skills. This event is for athletes who love basketball that do not have enough skills for the team game or who just like individual competition.
Neenah athletes Tre Swinford and Joe Cops both qualified for the event at the regional meet on Feb. 25 at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.
In addition, there is still a need for volunteers for the event. Specifically, escorts for the athletes, timers, scorers and awards people. Volunteers can register on line at www.specialolympicswisconsin.org go to the Events Calendar and click on this event on that day and can register online.
