It's a New Year...Check Your Paycheck
|
The start of a new calendar year always brings revisions to our payroll deductions. On January 5, please look closely at your paycheck to ensure that these revisions have been accurately reflected on your paycheck. Some of the revisions to your paycheck could be:
Mandatory Deductions:
* Wisconsin Retirement System (changed from 6.6% to 6.8%)
* State Taxes
* Federal Taxes
Voluntary Deductions (you will have these only if you signed up):
* Health Insurance Premium (Click here to see premiums)
* Dental Insurance Premium (changed only if you changed plans)
* Vision Insurance
* Life Insurance
* Short-term disability insurance
* Any voluntary deductions such as your 403(b), 457 or your HSA
* Insurance Buyout
Please look at these deductions and compare them with your records and your understanding of what they should be. If you feel that any of these deductions are not correct, please contact Jen Carstens at (920) 751-6800 x10108 or jennifer.carstens@www.neenah.k12.wi.us.

Elementary Enrichment Summer Courses Available
|
Click here for a limited list of suggested courses that the Neenah Joint School District could offer this summer. Each course has a suggested grade level and a brief description of the course. The grade level and description can be changed to meet the instructor's preference, if so desired.
Teachers who have previously taught a course will be given the first opportunity to
teach the course again this year, if they wish to do so. If you are interested in teaching any of these courses or? if you have another idea for a course that you’d like to teach, please contact Melissa Chrisman at mchrisman@www.neenah.k12.wi.us. All enrichment courses can be offered during Session 1, Session 2 or during both sessions.

Go365 Health Assessments Now Available
|
NJSD employees and dependents on the NJSD insurance plan may begin logging onto the Go365 website to take the Go365 Health Assessment. The health assessment and must be completed by Feb. 28 along with the biometric screening in order to keep insurance rates at 12.6 percent (the biometric screening must be completed by Feb. 14 if not being done on-site at an NJSD building). Those who have not yet scheduled an onsite biometric screening may click here to schedule an appointment.
Also, there have been some reported issues with the Go365 website. The beacons in the NJSD fitness centers have been experiencing problems and there is an issue with the link for viewing verified workouts. Intermittent issues with humana.com have also been experienced not allowing members to log in. These problems are being addressed by Humana. If you experience any other issues, please contact Humana at 866-427-7478.

Pickard Auditorium to Host Wrestling on Thursday
|
A unique venue will host a high school wrestling match for the first time on Thurs., Jan. 5 when Neenah and Hortonville square off on the stage of Pickard Auditorium at Neenah High School.
The event will include a middle school meet at 4:30 p.m. and a junior varsity meet at 6 p.m. prior to the varsity dual at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door and NJSD staff members receive one free ticket by showing their staff ID.

Barrage 8 Orchestra Coming on Feb. 22
|
Neenah orchestra students from middle school through high school will have the opportunity to perform on stage with the national touring group Barrage 8 during a concert on Wed., Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Pickard Auditorium.
Tickets for the event are $10 each and are available online at www.barrage8.com or at Neenah High School Door 3 during the school day.
Barrage 8 is an 8-piece professional ensemble that utilizes creative percussion, dancing and energetic vocals. Their songs span from high-energy fiddle folk to upbeat world music with dramatic stage lighting that’s far more characteristic of rock shows than string ensembles. The group was created with music education as its goal.

Cotton Club Jazz Dinner Set for Jan. 21
|
Enjoy a night of jazz music and dancing at the annual Neenah High School Cotton Club dinner on Sat., Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. The high school cafeteria will be transformed into a 1920's New York City jazz club for this festive event.
Tickets are $17 each and go on sale Mon., Jan. 9 at Door 3 at the high school.

Wellness Updates

* Holiday BINGO cards should be turned into Mary Greene at Horace Mann by the end of the week. They can be sent via school mail or e-mailed to mgreene@www.neenah.k12.wi.us.
* The Neenah High School boys track and field team will host its 11th annual Rocket Blast-Off 5K Run/Walk on Sat., March 4 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Neenah High School Runner's High program. Cost is $25 before Feb. 17 and $30 through the day of the event. The event is worth 250 Go365 points.
