- The football team hosts unbeaten Stevens Point on Friday night to headline the upcoming week in Neenah High School Activities. The week also features a busy night of girls’ home athletic events on Tuesday as the golf, tennis, swimming and diving and volleyball teams all compete.

Welcome to the Rocket Roundup
|
Welcome to the first edition of the "Rocket Roundup" all-staff newsletter. The newsletter will be sent each Wednesday morning and include important information and news that you need to know. It will also include links to traditional staff updates such as Tech Tips, Activities Updates, Wellness Wednesdays and Board Meeting Recaps. If you have an e-mail you would like sent to all District staff, send to jstrick@www.neenah.k12.wi.us and it will be included in the Wednesday staff newsletter. The deadline for inclusion will be Tuesdays at noon. You are still welcome to send e-mails to your all-school groups.

Insurance Information Presentation Set for Sept. 28
|
Information regarding the District's insurance will be shared at a staff meeting on Wed., Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. in the Shattuck Middle School Auditorium. The meeting will include a brief history of our insurance along with a discussion of preliminary plans for 2017 that will be presented to the Board of Education in October. All staff are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Retirement Benefits Presentation Set for Sept. 21
|
A presentation regarding NJSD 403b/457 accounts will be held on Wed., Sept. 21 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Administration Building Auditorium.
Spouses are welcome to attend the optional presentation, which will include information pertaining to retirement investing why, where, how much, etc. and details of our current retirement program besides WRS.
The presenter will be Phil Gatien of Associated Bank, Institutional Trust Services. The presentation will not be recorded, but any handouts will be available on the website afterwards. Please contact Judy Erickson in the Human Resources Office with any questions.

NJSD Health and Wellness Center Opens
|
The Neenah Joint School District Health and Wellness Center officially opened on Sept. 7. Staff members and their families are welcome to make appointments or simply walk in during open hours.
The Wellness Center offers NJSD employees and their families and opportunity to have their medical needs addressed on-site Monday through Friday. Located on the west wing of Shattuck Middle School, the Wellness Center has a private access off the parking lot on Elm Street.
The Center is staffed by Prevea Health Certified Physician Assistant Erin Rottier, Physical Therapist Ashley Wilson and Medical Assistant Kwanza Olowokere. Appointments may be made by calling 844-616-3556.
Hall of Fame Banquet Tickets on Sale - Banquet Oct. 15
Tickets for the 2016 Neenah Joint School District Hall of Fame induction banquet are now on sale at the District Administration Building. Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased in person at 410 S. Commercial St. from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting Jon Joch in the Business Office at 751-6800 ext. 10105 or jjoch@www.neenah.k12.wi.us. The banquet will be held on Sat., Oct. 15 at the Bridgewood Resort in Neenah. A social hour begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m.
The 2016 induction class consists of: Tom Berven, Dr. Wellington Hsu, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, Jean Kessler, Patricia Westphal, Thomas Wiesner and Ivan Williams.

AESOP Now Known as "Absence Management"
|
Frontline Technologies, which is the software company that created the AESOP substitute system, has changed the name of its system from AESOP to "Absence Management." Please be aware of this change when entering absences to avoid any confusion.
Tipler Grant Applications Due Sept. 16
Applications are now being accepted for the Vera and Carol Tipler Grants. The grants are available for teachers in grades 4K-8 at a maximum of $500.

Eleven Neenah Schools Earn Wisconsin Health Awards
|
Eleven schools from the Neenah Joint School District were among the 68 winners of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s 2016 Wisconsin School Health Awards.
Four Neenah schools were among 31 schools statewide recognized with the gold award as Hoover Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School, Spring Road Elementary and Wilson Elementary received the honor. Hoover has been recognized every year in the award’s four-year history, while Spring Road was honored for the third straight year and Horace Mann received laurels for the second straight year.
Shattuck Middle School was the only Neenah school in the silver category. Six schools were recognized as bronze award winners: Alliance Charter Elementary, Clayton Elementary, Coolidge Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, Neenah High School and Tullar Elementary.
