A wide array of unique course offerings that appeal to students at all levels and abilities are part of the Neenah Joint School District’s 2016 summer program.
Along with the traditional remedial offerings for students in all grades, a variety of enrichment classes are also available. Dates and length of the courses vary for each class.
Elementary enrichment classes include summer art, lifetime recreation, volunteering and community service, junior visual arts academy, bicycle riding basics, bicycle safety, healthy snack preparation and beginning French and Spanish.
The elementary offerings also include math and reading academies for students whose scores are below grade level or need to solidify their skills. Kindergarten and first grade readiness classes will be offered to provide extra-skill development prior to the start of school in the fall.
Elementary and middle school students may participate in a summer choir, band or strings academy. Fifth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in a beginning strings or band class.
Middle School remedial courses are offered in math and reading. Enrichment courses are available in strength and conditioning, beginning world languages, magic of the green screen, comic book graphics, LEGO league robotics, human rights awareness and drama.
High school students may earn credits toward graduation with successful completion of the summer courses.
High school courses are available in English, math, social studies, science, wellness/health, technology and engineering/business education, jazz ensemble and strength and conditioning.
