Neenah High School math teacher Bruce Moriarty has been selected as a recipient of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) Adjunct of the Year award.
Moriarty is among seven winners of the award out of nearly 500 adjunct teachers in the CAPP program throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. The program delivers a rigorous curriculum to high school students interested in earning concurrent high school and college credit. Adjuncts were nominated by their on-campus liaison.
Moriarty teaches advanced geometry, statistics and probability and leadership courses. He has been teaching in Neenah since 1990. This is his eighth year teaching a CAPP course in statistics and probability.
Neenah High School offers 13 different CAPP courses. Courses are also offered in AP biology, computer science 2, AP calculus, calculus 3, chemistry 101, advanced chemistry, advanced physics, lifeguard training, AP English language and composition, fundamentals of communication, modern American literature and AP United States government and politics. Students in the class of 2017 earned 406 college credits through CAPP courses.
Moriarty is the fourth Neenah teacher to win the award in its three-year history, joining science teacher Shelley Dorner and English teachers Tara Rockweit and Jennifer Heidl-Knobloch.
