Tullar Elementary to Host State Budget Signing on Thursday
< Back
Tullar Elementary School in Neenah will host Governor Scott Walker’s signing of the long-awaited Wisconsin state budget on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Governor Walker is scheduled to sign the budget during a ceremony beginning at 12:20 p.m. Tullar fourth and fifth grade students will witness the event in the school gymnasium.
The $76 billion state budget includes an additional $639 million in funding for public schools. The budget was due on July 1, but has been delayed in the assembly and senate for over two months.
Governor Walker will be making his second visit to Neenah in less than six months. He toured Neenah High School on April 13 while touting his increased funding for public schools. He also invited representatives from Neenah to attend his “State of the State” address in January.
This will be Governor Walker’s fourth budget signing and all have been outside of Madison. The other three were all at companies. He signed at Valveworks USA in Waukesha in 2015, Catalyst Exhibits in Pleasant Prairie in 2013 and Fox Valley Metal Tech in Ashwaubenon in 2011.
