Fifty students from Neenah High School’s Manufacturing and Engineering Academy recently had the opportunity to tour Plexus Corporation’s Neenah Operations manufacturing facility and learn hands-on experience from Plexus engineers.
Among the highlights, the group learned how multiple facets of the company interacted and everyone worked in a cohesive environment to accomplish company-wide goals. The group also discussed engineering career opportunities and various roles in the company. Plexus General Manager Scott Kettler and Customer Experience Leader Casey Leisgang led the visit along with 10 Plexus employees.
“This was an incredibly valuable experience for our students and we are grateful to Plexus for the opportunity,” said Neenah High School Technology and Engineering instructor Tony White. “Specifically, our students had the opportunity to receive feedback on employee educational backgrounds, site project highlights and individual roles within the company.”
The Manufacturing and Engineering Academy is designed to build a partnership with local industries with the goal of preparing Neenah High School students to make successful career and post-secondary choices, as well as gain skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Based in Neenah, Plexus is the global leader in mid-to-low volume, higher complexity products and serves customers in four market sectors: Industrial/Commerical, Networking/Communications, Healthcare/Life Sciences and Defense/Security/Aerospace. |
