Learn about some of the people who help in our community. This is a short list of community helpers because all websites either read to the student or are "video" based.

Map Skills
These interactive websites will help students learn the locations of states on a United States map, as well as practicing map directions (north, south, east, & west), map symbols and keys, coordinate grids, etc.

Continents and Oceans
Interactive websites to test your knowledge of the continents and oceans. Be sure to check out "Continents - CopyCat" for a brain building / memory sequencing exercise.

Biographies for Kids
A short list of websites that offer biographical information of famous people. On Mac computers at school (or home) students can use the "Text to Speech" feature to have the text of the pages read to them.

U.S. Government and Symbols
These websites will help students learn about the three branches of government, important historical documents like the Bill of Rights and important United States symbols including the flag and the Statue of Liberty.
These websites are text based and will NOT read to the students unless the "TEXT TO SPEECH" feature has been set up on the computer.
